During this stop on the Meaningful Travel Roadshow, participants will explore themes like urban waterways, accessibility and disability inclusion, and grassroots innovation, with hands-on opportunities to engage with local organizations driving meaningful change. See how collaboration and creativity are transforming neighborhoods and natural spaces - and learn how the travel industry can responsibly propel the city forward.
What is the Meaningful Travel Roadshow?
Tourism Cares is hitting the road in 2025 with the Meaningful Travel Roadshow, a series of programs designed to broaden the industry’s understanding of sustainable tourism through events held across three North American locations. By bridging these communities with industry leaders, the Roadshow aims to empower travel professionals to make smarter, more sustainable decisions that support the evolving travel landscape. Each Roadshow stop offers a full day packed with actionable learning sessions, hands-on experiences, and cross-sector networking opportunities designed to inspire and add more tools to your sustainable tourism toolkit.
Attendance & Cost
The Roadshow is an intimate event of 50-75 attendees and open to travel professionals across all sectors.

Welcome & Education Sessions
Location: The Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater in the heart of Overtown
While there is no official event hotel, attendees are encouraged to stay in downtown Miami for easy access to the venue. The theater is conveniently located near the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail Station, accessible via the Metromover Orange Line from downtown connecting at the Metrorail Government Center Station . It is also just a short rideshare trip away.
Kick off the day with a welcome coffee, followed by engaging education sessions and workshops designed to inspire and inform. Wrap up the morning with a networking lunch, offering a chance to connect with peers and local changemakers.

Location: Red Rooster Overtown, next door to the Lyric Theatre
End the day with a relaxed evening reception at Red Rooster Overtown, a restaurant that celebrates the rich culture of the neighborhood. It is a great chance to connect and reflect on the day’s experiences. Light appetizers will be served, and a cash bar will be available.

Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre | Tourism Cares Grantee
Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre was provided support on behalf of Globus Family of Brands to support ongoing mentorship, build capacity and foster resiliency for Indigenous community members through meaningful employment. The grant funds will also be used to develop a new guided tour called ANCIENT MEDICINES, enriching and connecting the cultural identity of the Indigenous Youth Ambassadors and Cultural Ambassadors the Centre works with.
